You’re buying a house with security devices
A new home may come with a security system. All the components work, are installed in the best places, and are ready to go. In this case, just pick up the phone to call and establish a new monitoring contract. A Vivint installer will still come to your home to ensure there are no integration issues, and they could offer ideas on upgrades. It's a fast visit, and you can have your 24/7 monitoring set up without having a bill for any new devices -- unless you make additions.
The old homeowners can give an existing Vivint contract to you for a one-time set-up fee to make the transfer easier. If the outgoing residents are downsizing to a condo or retirement community, turning over the Vivint contract may be a condition of the sale.
You want to move and take your home security components with you
You might need to bring your old smart devices with you to a new home when you move. Luckily, it's fairly simple to accomplish, as most smart devices are portable. You can remove each component yourself or call a professional installer to take care of your devices. Then our installers will hang the same components -- and any smart services you need to add -- in your new home. The home security contract will remain the same.
